I don't mean to be negative, but I don't notice any difference on 2.1 really. Nothing works... as has been the case... =(

All jokes aside, I’m just sitting patiently for everything to click for you guys. Even with me paying for this application and it not being what it could have been at start, due to inexperience on the platform with all > apple’s restrictions and regulations <, free loaders overloading the network…it was only three dollars & those dollars I will never miss. I felt before and still feel that those measly three dollars were a great investment; anyone who has the nerve to be asking for a refund out of spite needs to go experience some real frustration with companies that tell you nothing, have no true customer support and can give 2 sh’ts about those with issues unless the “margin” is big enough to attract unwanted attention.
Be real here, so you missed out on a happy meal for an application with a lot of potential and obviously great support and communication from the company behind it. I’ve been using this application since the jail broken (early iPhone hacking) days and you know what? I’d be a d’ to use this application without showing respect and recognition for what these guys done, for everyone with an iPhone by developing this app from day one and distributing it at a very (extremely) affordable price.
I hope the 3.1 update goes through and the changes are subtle enough in 2.1fw to make the tweaks easy for you guys. Also, I hope that you end up deciding to come up with a system to acknowledge who actually paid for their clients and lock out the bums who can afford a $3-600 iPhone but not an awesome app at pocket change level.
p.s. We all pay at least $60+ for our phone service, for those having dropped call issues, go talk to apple or ATT and see how receptive they are of your criticism when one blames the manufacture and the other blames you for your reception issues. I’d like to see how well your pleas will go for that one.
Ale
p.s.s Sorry for the long post. =/ =p

I was hoping 3.1 was going to be out before advising him of that, but the server side is working great now it seems, and he was willing to be patient for the client update. He's quite happy overall since he really missed always-on IM'ing since giving up his Sidekick.
The improvements are being noted, thanks guys.

Those of us pointing out a complete lack of satisfaction aren't creating negativity, the poor performance of this application, it's supporting services and the developers who are responsible for it are creating negativity. We're just shining a big ol' light on it.
As for everyone talking up how terrible Apple's review process is, I'm sure they're just favoring those other apps that have had multiple updates in the month that MC has stayed stagnant. That must be it!
If the developers had any ethics at all they'd have had Apple yank this, but why should they, every fool who buys it (like me) is another 2.99 (or $2) once Apple writes them the check. For those of you who claim you can't yank your own app from the appstore, look at Tapulous' FriendBook as a case study.
This is ridiculous on so many many many levels. Not putting out a deadline? Why, because it'll just be a point for which your failure will be measured by? Grow up guys, this "negativity" we're causing by writing in your blog's comments is what any real business would face if they've done what you've done. This should be the last comment I write here, I'm done waiting and reading posts telling me I'm in the wrong for wanting to voice my unhappiness, my misguided posts are done.
The only chance of my commenting again is if I go a similar amount of time without their refund solution working. Given their inability to do just about anything, I guess that means I will be commenting again.

Btw could you add an "Appear Offline" option when everything has been fixed, so you can talk to people still and change the current "Appear Offline" to "Offline"

ME: Sent an email Wednessday to support@twenty08.com to ask how I can obtain a refund (bought this day one and it has barely worked and then only rarely). Still no response.
Saverio: support@twenty08.com will not provide support for MobileChat. If you need support (or a refund), please use http://support.twenty08.com/
ME: Did that too. No reply from that either...........

Mobilechat page said always, tomorroy update, tomorroy update, tomorrow update, news servers added, tomorrow update, new people working, tomorrow update, but the true is that we have a month waiting with the patetic 3.0 of mobilechat version, and not work.
1 month = 0 updates and not working application.
I am already tired of waiting. And I sent a note to Apple warning that for the sake of the App Store withdraw all programs that do not work as they should, especially those who are to pay.

They have in fact made a lot of changes. For one thing, MSN was working when they launched, but stopped like 2 weeks ago. And in the last few days it's been working failrly decently again..
I have actually been able to use Mobile chat these few days.. I think iphone os 2.1 made a big change in terms of app stability.. Mobilechat stll crashes, a lot, but not as often as before; which makes me believe it's not all twenty08's own fault.
They do need to bring mc 3.1 out asap..

I dont know how to put this any way lightly, so I wont.
What this post is saying to me, is that you're not living up to expectations put forward by yourselves, as professionals with an app worth buying. Not even the slightest. Why? Let me explain.
1. You will not (and cannot according to yourselves) set a deadline for when the app will function. This is the absolute first step in ANY production, software or not.
2. You cannot anticipate problems you havent had yet. Of course not, and thats fine. However, with an app that (according to yourselves again) has a lot of problems, you'd expect it to be alpha. Once only a few problems are left, you'd expect it to be beta. Once hardly any problems are left, go sell it. To charge for an app that has this amount of problems is just downright ridiculous.
3. You have yet to pull the app. Why? Looking at the amount of apps that have been pulled recently, both by Apple and by the devs themselves, it continues to amaze me that you stick to the "But apple wont pull it" statement.
4. There is absolutely NO warning on your website about the state of the app. Well, there is, but why not put up a "Dont buy this yet" statement? Yes, you've stated that the reviews of the app should be enough. Well guess what, people rarely read reviews.
5. Your analogy about going to airline customer service in an uproar is right on the money. It would be stupid to do that, since it would get you nowhere, and it would be uncalled for. But believe you me, if an airline lost my luggage, and still hadnt returned it to me a MONTH later despite plenty of promises of doing so, then there's absolutely reason for uproar, involvement of lawyers and what have you.
Incredibly unimpressed to be honest. And why do people post posts like this on your blog? Well, for one maybe it will spur you into realising that you're not even close to living up to expectations, and for another, maybe it will ultimately mean that some people at least wait with purchasing MobileChat till it works.
Sort of like the multitude of blogposts on the net telling it how it is.
