  • mhmmm i hope theres going to be one tommorow night and not the next morning
  • WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
  • your app is great. i really like it. it doesn't work always, but the day it's really going to work you will rock. :D take your time. greetz
  • I'm confused.
2.1 problems? Was that supposed to say 3.1? I'm very confused.
  • I believe he was referring to the 2.1 firmware update released yesterday morning. Honestly this app was only $2.99 and its only been out for a month... this is a new development platform and no one could expect it to work perfectly even apples iphone OS has been plagued with bugs and they have a huge dev team.... i'm sure mobilechat will run great soon.. scaling is a huge and difficult undertaking... good luck guys! keep it up! great app..
  • Oh haha that would make sense. Sorry, I'm on an iPod Touch and I got my update a few days back. It's not in the forefront of my mind. Haha.

I don't mean to be negative, but I don't notice any difference on 2.1 really. Nothing works... as has been the case... =(
  • Saverio feel free to email me at drtarusupport (at) gmail (dot) com if you would like some help with moderating comments. I think that it's gotten to the point that something needs to be done about all the constant negativity. This post was the first step but without aomeome to moderate comments it will all be for naught. I know you don't have the time to do this which is why I'm offering my help. I'm currently a moderator on several forums and have no job and I definately wouldn't mind dedicating an hour or so every day to I through the posts. Let me know.

  • I haven't tried it post 2.1, but before that I had MC working great for a few hours.
  • NU! I am completely dissatisfied; I load MobileChat and log in on my AIM, MSN, & Y! accounts only to of received offline spam from y! (pr0n bots =/), and it wasn't even cooked! FIX IT!

All jokes aside, I’m just sitting patiently for everything to click for you guys. Even with me paying for this application and it not being what it could have been at start, due to inexperience on the platform with all > apple’s restrictions and regulations <, free loaders overloading the network…it was only three dollars & those dollars I will never miss. I felt before and still feel that those measly three dollars were a great investment; anyone who has the nerve to be asking for a refund out of spite needs to go experience some real frustration with companies that tell you nothing, have no true customer support and can give 2 sh’ts about those with issues unless the “margin” is big enough to attract unwanted attention.

Be real here, so you missed out on a happy meal for an application with a lot of potential and obviously great support and communication from the company behind it. I’ve been using this application since the jail broken (early iPhone hacking) days and you know what? I’d be a d’ to use this application without showing respect and recognition for what these guys done, for everyone with an iPhone by developing this app from day one and distributing it at a very (extremely) affordable price.

I hope the 3.1 update goes through and the changes are subtle enough in 2.1fw to make the tweaks easy for you guys. Also, I hope that you end up deciding to come up with a system to acknowledge who actually paid for their clients and lock out the bums who can afford a $3-600 iPhone but not an awesome app at pocket change level.

p.s. We all pay at least $60+ for our phone service, for those having dropped call issues, go talk to apple or ATT and see how receptive they are of your criticism when one blames the manufacture and the other blames you for your reception issues. I’d like to see how well your pleas will go for that one.

    Ale

p.s.s Sorry for the long post. =/ =p
  • the man above is right .....for all the money we spend for a phone thats forever changing we should be more patient .... i mean hell im paying 10 extra dollars for a feature i cant even use (3G). so if we can wait for features like copy and paste from apple with no words up whats ahead in sight . i believe we can do the same for these guys. keep working hard guys
  • my mom lost her bag before. No joke and she screamed at em and they were saying we are taking neccesary actions to find you bag mam
  • Well, here's something to lift your spirits - AIM (My only real important IM client on my iPhone) has been working 99% for me in the last few days which has been great, and once we got to that point I advised a relative that it was OK to go ahead and install MC now, so he rushed off to the Appstore and bought it.

I was hoping 3.1 was going to be out before advising him of that, but the server side is working great now it seems, and he was willing to be patient for the client update. He's quite happy overall since he really missed always-on IM'ing since giving up his Sidekick.

The improvements are being noted, thanks guys.
  • it working now MSN online from about 2 hours without any disconnect.
thanks to You guys it is realy good job .
  • As I said in the last daily update. I fully support this application. The constant updates notify us that your dev team, as small as is may be, is in full focus. I also would like to second the suggestion drtaru made by asking for people to moderate your comments. AIM has been connecting better since the server update, considering I'm staying on 2.0.2. Raise your glasses and keep up the hard work! Kudos!
  • Focus? Are you joking,? They don't even fix one thing before they move on to another. Either they're straight out lying to us or incompetent. 3.0.1 was submitted the day it was released, 3.0.2 was supposedly right behind it, now we're waiting on 3.1 as the first updated to the client.

Those of us pointing out a complete lack of satisfaction aren't creating negativity, the poor performance of this application, it's supporting services and the developers who are responsible for it are creating negativity. We're just shining a big ol' light on it.

As for everyone talking up how terrible Apple's review process is, I'm sure they're just favoring those other apps that have had multiple updates in the month that MC has stayed stagnant. That must be it!

If the developers had any ethics at all they'd have had Apple yank this, but why should they, every fool who buys it (like me) is another 2.99 (or $2) once Apple writes them the check. For those of you who claim you can't yank your own app from the appstore, look at Tapulous' FriendBook as a case study.

This is ridiculous on so many many many levels. Not putting out a deadline? Why, because it'll just be a point for which your failure will be measured by? Grow up guys, this "negativity" we're causing by writing in your blog's comments is what any real business would face if they've done what you've done. This should be the last comment I write here, I'm done waiting and reading posts telling me I'm in the wrong for wanting to voice my unhappiness, my misguided posts are done.

The only chance of my commenting again is if I go a similar amount of time without their refund solution working. Given their inability to do just about anything, I guess that means I will be commenting again.
  • MSN has stopped working again, was working fine yesterday. Nothing happens when you touch online.
Btw could you add an "Appear Offline" option when everything has been fixed, so you can talk to people still and change the current "Appear Offline" to "Offline"
  • soo... 3.1 should be coming out today or tomorrow.. or did it get rejected again?? since you guys keep running to issues with apple
  • im very confused as to where people keep getting these estimates.... I dont think we should be estimating... it doesnt seem like apple has a certain timeframe they use for reviewing apps.
  • its not rocket science. in general its about a week for approval times.

meanwhile, 3.1 was submitted over two weeks ago with no signs of it being available. gee i wonder if it also got rejected or if it was even submitted at all..
  • Well, that's it.. I am over it. I have deleted this POS from my phone and have resigned myself that a) it is not gonna work and b) I will not receive my $ back.. As per this earlier post:

ME: Sent an email Wednessday to support@twenty08.com to ask how I can obtain a refund (bought this day one and it has barely worked and then only rarely). Still no response.

Saverio: support@twenty08.com will not provide support for MobileChat. If you need support (or a refund), please use http://support.twenty08.com/

ME: Did that too. No reply from that either...........

    ME: Bueller?
  • Is it just me or is there no mention of the word REFUND http://support.twenty08.com/help/faq
    WTF???
  • To get a refund contact Apple not the developers. Apple give the refunds, there's no need to tell or ask the devs for a refund. I got a refund for an App that wouldn't open and told Apple and they gave me my money back and best thing is I still get updates for that app :-) lol
  • Aim doesnt seem to be working at all.
    Wont connect.
Msn on the other hand connected fine and seems to be working.
I dont have any msn buddies to see if it works i just use it for email.

cant connect on edge and now not even wifi.
    Just letting you guys know.
    Keep up the good work.

    -marc
  • well like i said earlier your failure to fix a whole aim and your still willing to move on to another... look at whats happening people on aim are starting to get mad because the program started to suck again... i really doubt its the software itself... its more of an server amount issue??!!! or the horrible programming you guys do.
  • if the apps not out tomorrow you guys should just quit because you dont even have the support from apple and your not even telling us every single even thats happening just like how you had to re submit the app last week.... so yea just quit if it doesnt come out tomorrow
  • I'm behind you ppl, I'll stand behind you in this process and wait for when you get a propper solution...

I have a question... Is email notification enabled? because I can´t seam to make it work.
  • MMMM I'm confuse.

Mobilechat page said always, tomorroy update, tomorroy update, tomorrow update, news servers added, tomorrow update, new people working, tomorrow update, but the true is that we have a month waiting with the patetic 3.0 of mobilechat version, and not work.

1 month = 0 updates and not working application.

I am already tired of waiting. And I sent a note to Apple warning that for the sake of the App Store withdraw all programs that do not work as they should, especially those who are to pay.
  • Although I'm myself very critical with the MC team - I do need to correct you. Most of the updates they've mentioned were all server-side. That is, changes in the software their servers run.

They have in fact made a lot of changes. For one thing, MSN was working when they launched, but stopped like 2 weeks ago. And in the last few days it's been working failrly decently again..

I have actually been able to use Mobile chat these few days.. I think iphone os 2.1 made a big change in terms of app stability.. Mobilechat stll crashes, a lot, but not as often as before; which makes me believe it's not all twenty08's own fault.

They do need to bring mc 3.1 out asap..
  • Right...

I dont know how to put this any way lightly, so I wont.

What this post is saying to me, is that you're not living up to expectations put forward by yourselves, as professionals with an app worth buying. Not even the slightest. Why? Let me explain.

    1. You will not (and cannot according to yourselves) set a deadline for when the app will function. This is the absolute first step in ANY production, software or not.

    2. You cannot anticipate problems you havent had yet. Of course not, and thats fine. However, with an app that (according to yourselves again) has a lot of problems, you'd expect it to be alpha. Once only a few problems are left, you'd expect it to be beta. Once hardly any problems are left, go sell it. To charge for an app that has this amount of problems is just downright ridiculous.

    3. You have yet to pull the app. Why? Looking at the amount of apps that have been pulled recently, both by Apple and by the devs themselves, it continues to amaze me that you stick to the "But apple wont pull it" statement.

    4. There is absolutely NO warning on your website about the state of the app. Well, there is, but why not put up a "Dont buy this yet" statement? Yes, you've stated that the reviews of the app should be enough. Well guess what, people rarely read reviews.

    5. Your analogy about going to airline customer service in an uproar is right on the money. It would be stupid to do that, since it would get you nowhere, and it would be uncalled for. But believe you me, if an airline lost my luggage, and still hadnt returned it to me a MONTH later despite plenty of promises of doing so, then there's absolutely reason for uproar, involvement of lawyers and what have you.

Incredibly unimpressed to be honest. And why do people post posts like this on your blog? Well, for one maybe it will spur you into realising that you're not even close to living up to expectations, and for another, maybe it will ultimately mean that some people at least wait with purchasing MobileChat till it works.

Sort of like the multitude of blogposts on the net telling it how it is.
  • You have regurgitated this about 10x now. Give it a rest.
  • And I shall keep regurgitating until I get the answers I am looking for :)

Please, pay attention to the fact that I am responding to Saverios post. Not just pasting previously written content.
  • you're not going to get your answers.
  • Lets have the devs state that they want no negative comments and/or will not respond to any of such then.
  • sweep good post... AY MOBILECHAT PEOPLE READ THAT
  • I know the dollar menu was popular but this is ape sh' retarded.
