Ask apple to pull your application if you can't launch it right, How can they still sell a broken application that's been broken since the get-go. Free application? Sure all this downtime is excusable. Now you're saying you're going to start charging for "major updates" yeah right. Look for a charge back on my credit card, and a lengthy complaint to apple to pull your dreadful application. $3 or $15 you can't sell broken shit.

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

I have gotten refunds so far on 5 applications ranging in price from $.99 to $9.99

The process is actually quite simple. Go into your account in itunes, go into purchase history, find the order which contains the product you want refunded and then next to the product (next to the price) find the link that says "Report a Problem" Click it. It may walk you through a few troubleshooting techniques. But in the end if you go all the way through you end up with a form. Fill out the form, state exactly why you are having problems with the application.

They have ALWAYS responded to me within 24 hours of me submitting the request, and the refund shows up on my credit card within a few days of that. So it is quite quick and quite simple.

Also I wanted to note that there is another way by going through the itunes troubleshooting website, there is a place to contact the itunes store in there. Although in there the options for the problem are more related to music and movies I think I Selected, purchased music doesnt play (or something like that). In this case you still need to have the exact order number that the app was on as well as the exact name of the application as it appears on the order. If you include everything as it should be then you will have your refund as promised with in 3 - 5 days (Their time frame, although I generally see it within the first day or two).

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

Ok, so if you won't entertain my offer to send you $3, I would say go ahead and contact apple for a refund. Especially after so many people (over)hyped this app...

And honestly, I won't even bother sending in bug reports, because the problems I was experiencing with MC when it was "running" were so numerous that I just don't have the time and patience for that...! I generally really don't mind helping out and reporting an occasional bug or so, but I sure have better things to do than play the beta-tester for a self-proclaimed 3.0 version of a commercial app...try 0.9 instead and start all over...! :(

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

Just got Mobile Chat working literally 10 minutes ago and things work good. All the hype about how it stays connected and all may be great -- but what about the basics...?! Not only did it freeze the very first time it finally loaded some buddies and chats, but I don't see how I can, for instance; connect to a single service...!? It's always all or none...!? And since it has only connected me to 2 of 4 I actually have to go completely offline and then online again to try to reconnect the other 2 services...?! Unless I'm missing something here this is not the way it should be...

There's no way to set up some privacy options, I can't set buddy names of my own instead of the user id, it doesn't seem to load buddy icons, I can't merge contacts who are on different networks, I can't block or ignore people, I see contacts in the bddy list even when I am offline and, and, and --- the list could go on and on...!

Honestly, this is a huge disappointment as of now...! Even when (or if) they finally manage to get the servers up and running, this is far from a full-featured, commercial app that would deserve to be labeled 3.0 or even 1.0 respectively...! :(((

I don't really care about the 3$ I seem to have wasted, it's just that I was setting my hopes in this and it's a total letdown...

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

any one got push notification via email working?

also sending sms to mobile number?

I cant get neither working...

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

Hear, hear!

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

how long does it take to get a refund, i used the report a problem option.

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

I am giving this app the benefit of the doubt for now as I know it does have potential and could definitely end up being a great app. Things like this are not easy and do take time. But I am very concerned about a few issues. Primarily the fact that it took you guys a while to get this app into the app store and this is the first release with a lot of problems that it appears as though you did not know about until now. Which means of course that you have not yet even begun to work on some of the issues that really need fixes now in order to make this app useable. Unfortunately if we have to wait 2 weeks for a fix, and then another 2+ weeks before the fix is released in the app store, me along with a lot of people here will be long gone.

Btw, just in case anyone is wondering a refund would be issued by apple upon request, any non working apps get refunded pretty quickly. I would personally though rather just have this application working.

Here are some of the issues:

1. App crashes a lot on launch

2. Settings are in place, in the settings I do NOT have it set to log me off when I suspend it. When I go into the application EVERY SINGLE time it appears as though it has to re-log me in to the various accounts. I have all together 4 accounts setup and this is not generally a problem for them except 1 which is AIM which then pops me out with a message saying I am logging in too fast and I need to wait 10 minutes. Now my understanding of the application was that the server keeps me logged in, so each and everytime I go into the app it should not be re-logging me in, it should get from your server that I am already connected.

problem is I am infact NOT connected. Testing this verified, after leaving the application, immediately right after (on a desktop client) I go to an away status, then within as little as 5 minutes that desktop then shows me as logged out. If I go back into your application it re-logs me in and then I get a message from AIM saying I am connecting too quickly and I have to wait 10 minutes.

3. Several of my contacts are only showing email addresses instead of their names. In addition several of them are not showing their picture which they have previously setup, the picture which I can see from any desktop client

4. when I was first able to connect this morning, I logged in, and it gave me a list of those who were logged in at that time. Between then and now many of them have infact logged off, ALL of them are still showing up as logged in. If I exit the program or even force quit it and then re-enter, they all still show up. When I send them a msg (the logged off clients) nothing happens, no return message to indicate they are logged off, the app just pretends like they got it.

5. After connecting half of my list of 4 connections disappears. I see nothing but white at the top of my list of connections and then the last two at the bottom. This seems like something you all could have fixed before releasing. simply cosmetic yes, but it is good to know that I am actually connected. For example, when Aim won't connect, since it is at the top of my list, it disappears and then I have no idea if I am connected or not. The only way to tell is to find a contact that is using AIM send them a msg and see if I get an error.

6. I noticed your answer to a previous post when it wouldnt connect would be to switch it to offline and then back to available. It seems to me this really isnt an acceptable alternative to having it work when it says it is. Specifically when I am supposedly already connected but it is not showing up as such.

All of these issues may be things you are already aware, but I do expect that they be addressed and some way of knowing that they will be worked past. As it stands right now, the application is not useable given the fact that it doesnt work like an IM application should work. I am willing to give it some time, but rest assured if I see no sign of progress or if I dont get a response from you on this, I won't hesistate to leave pretty quickly as soon as the next IM app comes out which actually works.

Re: Still slow, but there's a light...

AIM?
It's MSN I want and PAID for! There was blog post since yesterday (the minutes it was on the app store) saying that the server where having issues and that they'll get solved ASAP. That mean you bought the app knowing that fact so you have to expect it not to work properly for now. Of course, I assume that you where reading this blog before since you bought MobileChat that soon after the release.
