  • Shady P. · 1 year ago
Thank YOU SOO MUCH mobile chat just owned palringo and im+ thing even if it wont work. :D
  • Pyri · 1 year ago
ALL RIGHT GUYS!!! There's a light at the end of the tunnel after all, and its getting closer!!! lol!
  • paul · 1 year ago
You guys suck. The beehive mobile app is 100x better and it's just a webspp. Just give up. Your product blows.
  • Saverio · 1 year ago
Thank you Paul. That was such a beautifully written comment.
  • paul · 1 year ago
Don't be upset that it's true that your awful app is worthless. A webapp can maintain a better connection doesn't crash and is free. Who really needs your junk? Honestly just give up guys. You are the biggest failures.
  • Heidenreich12 · 1 year ago
lol @ paul... just another 12 year old ranting online
  • Oshawapilot · 1 year ago
When beejive somehow magically maintains persistent connections, let me know. Untill then, you are clueless, sir.
  • MarcMiller · 1 year ago
    umm it does......
on the web app its limited to 2 hours but on the WM6 and blackberry version its not..
  • kameko · 1 year ago
it does maintain persistent connections. you fail.
  • gary · 1 year ago
Beejive will not maintain persistent connections. It's crap!
  • kameko · 1 year ago
umm yes it does. whats wrong with you?
  • Oshawapilot · 1 year ago
And FWIW, Saverio, I'm all for "censorship" of this blog if it means getting rid of the troll-ish comments. I don't think anyone who actually has a clue and is here for more then getting out their childish antics would hold it against you if you just deleted that sort of crap.
  • Shaun · 1 year ago
Yeah I think we're going to start reconsidering our 'no delete' policy. There's plenty of insightful "negative" posts (I'm looking at you Sweep!). However the trolls really are just ruining it for everyone.

We have no problems with people who intelligently communicate their displeasure with the application, criticism is a part of this industry.
  • Sweep · 1 year ago
They love me! They reeeally love me! :p

Pun aside, I am happy that I at least am considered slightly insightful.

You lads are doing a quite decent job, am really looking forward to see this this fully functioning.
  • bob · 1 year ago
I totally agree with censoring as well. There's no rule anywhere where every comment has to be made available. Honest critiques help...but shameless trolls don't do any good.
  • champ22 · 1 year ago
    @ saverio
hows the push sms looking ?
  • Shaun · 1 year ago
Push SMS should be working for "OSCAR" accounts (AIM/.Mac/MobileMe/ICQ). However since those services aren't working very well right now, Push SMS doesn't appear to actually work.
  • gary · 1 year ago
right now only gtalk will connect and I dont know if its truly connected.
Y! and AIM sit there forever.
  • Shaun · 1 year ago
Gtalk should work fine right now, have you been able to talk to people? YIM and AIM are buggy at best though.
  • Oshawapilot · 1 year ago
Gtalk has been rock solid for me for days now, maintaining connections for multiple days even. However, AIM is what I really need since as an ex Hiptop/Sidekick user all my mobile IM contacts have just gotten used to getting me on AIM. I like Gtalk, but really, not many people use it.

I'm really looking forward to reliable, persistent, AIM.
  • gary · 1 year ago
Haven't tried. When I connect to gtalk I still see all my AIM contacts in the buddy list. :( :(
  • Shady P. · 1 year ago
Msn isnt connecting to fast either and google talk push email doesnt works ( wait im not sure if it supports it....) but oh well im glad you enabled this early when it was supposed to be released with 3.1 THX :D
  • Robin · 1 year ago
What does "This account could not be connected. Please e-mail support to have this issue resolved." mean.
I emailed you a few hours ago and am awaiting a responce.
  • asdasdasd · 1 year ago
im hoping that aim will be stable by the time 3.1 comes out...
  • Michael · 1 year ago
Wow this is BS. I want a refund.
  • Maldaen · 1 year ago
Wow, I've never seen so many people upset about $3 before. I pay that much for a 2-liter of Coke at the 7-11. At this point, I think it's just whining for the sake of whining. If you want a refund, contact them through the proper channels and they will assist you with getting a refund from Apple, if $3 is that genuinely precious to you.
  • Tyson Edwards · 1 year ago
    The really sad part...

If these people would simply have been working instead of on this forum writing up their complaints, they would have already made up for the $3 that they "lost" through this life lesson as so many have put it.

Personally, I still think that much of the fanboy "I know it doesn't work, but it still rocks! Have some vision!" style responses are just as disgusting.

Sure, with enough vision even the most smelly, revolting pile of crap will one day become fertilizer to help grow some pretty beautiful flowers or some very appetizing produce.

The moral of the story is that everything has it's place, even the crap... If this App ultimately turns out to be crap in the end, it will still serve to motivate others to create something truly beautiful.

Much as the whole saying of "It could be that the sole purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning sign to others."

    ~Tyson
  • Shibi · 1 year ago
the thing is 15,000+ people multiplied by $3 is a ton of money for something that doesnt really work very well.
  • kameko · 1 year ago
christ shut up with these stupid kind of defenses. are you saying that the app store should be just fine if it were littered with 3$ apps that didn't work at all then? because you know, its only 3$ and all so who really cares right?

what kind of dufus would think a customer was wrong because they purchased a product only to have said product not work as advertised?

    please, explain.
  • Saverio · 1 year ago
    Contact support at support.twenty08.com
  • Mitch & Murray · 1 year ago
Here we go again. What is this new message about emailing support to have the "cannot connect to Mobilechat" ERROR resolved? If it's not one thing it's another with you guys. You're supposed to be fixing this pig, not adding problems.
  • bob · 1 year ago
Is MSN supposed to be in a slightly working state atm?

Cause I can login but nothing really happens and there's STILL no actually buddies online. The list just stays empty. I've tried readding my MSN account but nothing.
  • Alan · 1 year ago
I have no problem waiting for the connect issue to be resulved but is there a way of setting up a mass email or somthing so i dont have to keep checking it myself? all for giving small companys a go but dont really want it to take up time in the process.
  • Kevin · 1 year ago
Still can't sign into AIM. Why? Keeps giving me message that I have been disconnected and to contact support.
  • maximus · 1 year ago
Wow, I'm impressed. I decided to reinstall the app today and violla! The interface has been updated. I haven't been able to connect to AIM but was able to on Gtalk.

    QUESTIONS:

    1. How long is the typical delay to receive an email notification? I was testing it out with yahoo push mail and there was some delay (some short and some long.)

Good job guys! I see the light at the end of the tunnel ;)
  • A.T · 1 year ago
I still can't connect with MC, just hangs on sending account details for MSN.
  • it · 1 year ago
    Iget new message
(this account could be connected please e-mail support@mobilch.at to have this issue resolved) !!!!
    Any help help here ?
  • Stephen · 1 year ago
Maybe do what the message says and contact support@mobilech.at ?

Obeying instructions meant to help you is a crazy idea I know, but it might just work. :p
  • Mitch & Murray · 1 year ago
If you send in the "support" email you'll get a reply that essentially says that they are aware of the issue, that it will be fixed in 3.1, and to try to reinstall the program. None of which is helpful.
  • kameko · 1 year ago
so let me get this straight..you decide to sell an app, and then nearly a month later you decide to actually write the app so it works?

i'm a little put off by how experimental everything seems to you guys. right now it seems like you're just trying out this type of server and that type of gateway and just waiting to see what happens with each. i mean shouldnt this stuff have been done beforehand? why are you all of a sudden hiring python developers, web developers, consultants, server administrators etc etc NOW?

i also can't believe that your itunes app page mentions ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the current state of this app and just sits there to mislead even more customers.
  • Tyson Edwards · 1 year ago
Yep, that is about the current state of it...

These guys wrote a nice stand-alone application through the gratuitous use of other peoples' code with a bit of a facelift and succeeded admirably. Sure, that's the case for most open-source projects around so it's not really a complaint.

Then, they decided to make it work in the "official" way. No problems there...
The only problem here is that a high-availability service-oriented product is put in a completely separate realm. Paying for something like this causes the assumption of reliability and usability; completely removing you from the hobby realm and puts you safely into the corporate realm along with your phone service, your television and your cable service. All things that are expected to always work without a second thought.

Technically, if Apple allowed background apps to run, the old MobileChat from Installer.app days should work 1000x better than this since you don't need any server tech, just the client updates the icon itself and keeps you connected to MSN etc.

Its only because of Apple that you need such drastic server expenditure to simply maintain an app's connection to the outside world once its closed. Even with Push support in the future, it still requires major server expenditure on the behalf of the developer.

It's a noble thing to save your iPhone from memory bloat but come on Apple, you're severly hampering some program's ease of use for both user and developer.

This app was fantastic in the above mentioned version on jailbroken iPhones. But I suppose the way they went about this App Storizing of MobileChat was NEVER thought out.

Hmm maybe we should do testing before we release a software product? Hmmm.. nah dont worry...
  • walter · 1 year ago
me myself im not worried about the 3 bucks but i say it should be pulled off the app store until its right..
  • gary · 1 year ago
Okay update as of 8:30am PST
    Google talk works flawlessly.
I still see Y! and AIM members in my buddy list. :(
  • walter · 1 year ago
i just wish i could get on aim or yahoo msn.. nothing..
  • Matic · 1 year ago
ICQ still not working, can`t connect. It worked before u updated ur servers. Other IM`s are fine.
  • walter · 1 year ago
people say the other IM's are fine but i cant get on aim yahoo or msn.. gtalk i signed up for account and it seems to be on but i dont use gtalk..
  • mehtap · 1 year ago
please why I can not connect through my i phone under windows live messenger
    mehtap yetisgin@hotmail.com
  • Tyson Edwards · 1 year ago
Perhaps you are unable to connect just as everyone else in this very same conversation is not able to connect...

They know about it, they are working on it... It sucks, it's unacceptable, it's downright upsetting, but it is how it is.
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot · 1 year ago
I'd really like to know where these morons went to school and then write a note to myself to never send my kids there.
  • frickingphil · 1 year ago
    Because this is constructive.
  • bbplayer5 · 1 year ago
Or you could just not have kids? That would benefit all of us. Don't be selfish.
  • jrjrdinh · 1 year ago
AIM and Google Talk doesn't work for me here in California. Its kinda frozen and nothing is loading up. Hope you guys fix it soon, watching your tutorial makes me wish I had it working right now.
  • AngelChrist · 1 year ago
.Mac and Goggle Talk is working beautifully for me here in Southern Cali, on WIFI and EDGE.
Extremely satisfied with it working, it just started working a few hours ago, and I'm enjoying it too much. Also, the SMS Push is working beautifully too. I get an SMS Push text seconds after I send myself an IM, for the moment, flawless, and hope it stays this way =D
  • FreeWay · 1 year ago
    Good!
    My Aim Works Perfectly...
    and the Push Sms Also...
i receive my sms seconds after somebody aim me!
Im just waiting for MSN to be fixed
i cant WAit to enjoy This app
    :D

    Keep UP!
  • skb875 · 1 year ago
Now if only it would let me connect... Haven't been able to connect for about a week now.

Does it have issues with 2.0.2?..
  • AngelChrist · 1 year ago
Wouldn't expect so, Im on 2.02pwned and working fine.
  • frickingphil · 1 year ago
    Yay.

MobileChat refuses to even open anymore. Another re-install? =P
  • frickingphil · 1 year ago
Nope, even that didn't do anything.

It's like a roller coaster in the dark with this app
